Great Barton Primary school, March 2008- A whole
school project using recycled plastic. Inspired by the science week theme of
plants the children created a large artwork for the school hall.

The children created a flower garden making the flowers in handmade felt and

Suffolk Carers January – August 2006
The aim of this programme is to allow carers to develop interests of
their own while caring long term for others. Rojo worked with
adults on feltmaking, printmaking and papermaking. We worked
with Young Carers as summer projects on papermaking, feltmaking,
recycled plastics and metallic sculpture.

Regular holiday programmes of workshops for children and accompanying

Lawshall Primary School August 2006
A two day Summer School for primary age children. Using a
summertime seaside theme we provided a fun programme of projects
including clay work, disposable art, recycled plastics, feltmaking
supported by drawing and painting.
Risbygate Arts May-July 2006
A community project working first in the Abbey Gardens as part of Bury
Festival making birds from natural park materials followed by a
printmaking project which resulted in a large piece of artwork for
display in Bury Library.
Tuesday Art
Club February 2005 - ongoing
The aim of this club is to offer a diverse range of art activities as a
supplement to the school curriculum. Designed for children
who enjoy the freedom to create on their own terms, it is run as a fun
after school activity for school age children in and around Bury St
Edmunds. Children are introduced to the work of
different artists and genres and produce a range of work, some of which
has been displayed in the Professional Development Centre, Bury St
Edmunds. The club has also worked with the Theatre Royal
Young Drama Group to produce scenery for their performance in
July.

Horringer Court Middle School January 2006
A textiles project working with a selected group of forty
students. The children used dying, painting and fabric
collaging techniques to make hanging banners to represent their Houses.
Risbygate Arts December 2005
Festive Fun - Part of the •Unburying Voices' community arts
programme, these workshops invite participants to be inspired by
memories and feelings about Christmas, and to work with different
materials over two sessions to produce decorations.
Great Barton Primary School November 2005
Snowflakes: A whole school project to create a backdrop for the winter
play. Children worked with recycled materials, print and
collage to produce a collaged mural and a shimmering hanging montage of
3D snowflakes over the whole hall.
Suffolk County Council Community Education Families Learning February 2003 - September 2005
A monthly programme of lively interactive sessions giving families the
opportunity to discover the excitement of making art
together.
These workshops work around a theme, using varied resources to spark
the creative process. Then, exploring a particular media or
method the children create an artwork to take home.

Learning and Neighbourhood Development Project Training for Community
development in Suffolk June 2005
We delivered a workshop to community development workers
who are interested in using the creative arts in their work. The aim of
the training being to demonstrate how a community worker could plan and
deliver a creative arts project.
St Edmundsbury Borough Council Suffolk Waste Partnership April 2005
A project aiming to reinforce the work of 'Sort it for Suffolk' by
using recycled materials to produce artwork. A drop in
workshop for families was held in Bury St Edmunds Library.
The resulting work was hung in the library for six months before moving
to other council venues.
This work is currently on display at Endeavour House Ipswich (January
2007).
West Suffolk Drugs Advisory Service
Mildenhall Disaffected Youth Project:
September 2004 - February 2005
Funded by the Drugs Advisory Service, this project was designed to
introduce working in the arts to disaffected youth in the
area.
The aim being to minimise the likelihood of them becoming drug
users.
The group, aged from 15 -24yrs met every Thursday. The project
introduced print techniques to produce work based loosely around urban
themes and music. A display of work was hung in The Old Post
Office, Mildenhall and later toured other drug service venues.

Risby Primary School October 2004
A project working with the whole school to create a mural for all four
walls of the school hall. The theme was the job of the
illustrator, and the children worked in several techniques through the
day to illustrate a poem and complete the murals.

Guildhall Feoffment Primary School June 2004
Mosaic Project - A programme working with the whole school community to
design and make a large scale mosaic mural for the
playground.
This included four days working directly onto the wall with more than
three hundred pupils, parents, teaching and support staff.
Great Heath Primary School, Mildenhall June 2004
The Ugly Bugs Ball - A project designed for early years
children. Children used recycled plastics to make large scale
mini-beasts as part of the curriculum study. After a parade
of the work we created a large mural in the school hall to display the
bugs.
Riverwalk School ESN(S) May 2004
A morning workshop making translucent artwork to display on a
window. Sun, sea and sails inspired the work which was aimed
at children working with their parents.

Priors Estate Lottery Funded Project December 2003 - February 2004
This was a Neighbourhood development scheme to bring art workshops to
the community. Most of the work was with families and took
place in the community centre.
